The high-altitude combustion tower(or High-Altitude Torch Tower Stack Flare System ),  consists of a vertically rising pipe, resembling a flue, where flames burn at the top of the tower, away from the ground. The radiated heat from the flames must be maintained within a certain safe range on the ground to avoid harming operators or damaging equipment.


The high-altitude combustion tower is primarily used for burning toxic waste gases, requiring a certain height for gas diffusion.

Support Structure: The support form of the high-altitude combustion tower first considers economic and structural requirements, followed by process requirements. There are three types: steel tower frame support, cable support, and self-supporting.

The steel tower frame support torch is particularly suitable for situations where the combustion tower is relatively high but occupies a small land area, and self-supporting or cable-supported types cannot be used. Generally, the cost and maintenance expenses of tower frame torches are higher, but they offer great flexibility in construction. When the use of lifting equipment is restricted, they can be assembled piece by piece, though the design is relatively complex. Tower frames typically have triangular or quadrilateral steel structure towers.

Characteristics of tower frame torches: small footprint, high investment, suitable for facilities with large emissions.

Self-supporting torches have a small footprint and are a better choice in limited areas, but for taller tower frame torches, self-supporting designs must consider reducing oscillations and stresses caused by wind, preventing distortion and deformation of the support plates. Their foundations must bear all wind load and torque, making their design more complex than other types.

Suitable for manufacturers with smaller emissions and limited area requirements.

Cable-supported torches are the most economical choice, as cables generate significant buffering forces that help overcome aerodynamic load issues. However, the drawback is that setting cable anchor points requires a large area, typically defined within a radius of 55% of the chimney height. The design is also complex, requiring calculations for the area of the concrete base, and the weight must be determined by the vertical forces and load-bearing capacity derived from the cables. They have larger emissions than self-supporting torches but occupy more space and have a more complex design.

In 2012, we successfully developed a high-pressure arc ignition device specifically for torches, increasing the reliability of the ignition device by more than ten times, with the cumulative lifespan of the electric ignition components increasing from several hours with semiconductor high-energy ignition to tens of thousands of hours. Based on this, we developed a fully automatic torch ignition device. In 2013, we achieved the successful extinguishing of the torch while ensuring safety and reliability, focusing research on relatively weak components, using the "Jacobs Elevator" discharge principle to extend the lifespan of ignition electrodes, achieving a cumulative discharge lifespan of over 8,000 hours. We also applied ultraviolet flame detection technology to the torch, significantly increasing the lifespan of the flame detection part and reducing the response time to below 0.2 seconds (response time adjustable); additionally, we incorporated thermal gas flow detection technology and pressure transmitters into the torch system, greatly improving the stability, accuracy, and reliability of automatic ignition.

The company uses fire-resistant and water-resistant high-pressure cables, successfully resolving the safety issues associated with the bare installation of high-pressure arc ignition lines, such as poor safety, fragile quartz insulators, and susceptibility to strong winds and icing, significantly enhancing the reliability of high-pressure electrical transmission for ignition.

In December 2012, the company was recognized as an advanced unit in the first industry integrity construction evaluation. In January 2018, it was awarded the "National Taiwan Cup" for integrity performance in 2017. In April 2024, it passed ISO 9001/2002 international quality management system certification, ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, and OHSAS 18001/GB/T 28001 occupational health and safety management system certification, achieving AAA certification.
